A TRIBUTE TO – “BHOLI MAA, BUDDY MAA AND BINDASS MAA!”
A beautiful song dedicated to mothers:
“Maa tere hath diyan thandiyan chawan
Nathde nu fadd diyan teriyan bahvan
Bhulna vi chavan bhul na paavan maa
Oh aate di churi teri
Gudd ton mithi lori teri
Jaan ke bina farrdi chori maa.”
I can relate to every word of the song, for I, unlike others, was born and blessed to be raised by three beautiful females of my life, in the order of hierarchy – Bholi Maa (Mother) a.k.a. Meena Mahajan, Buddy Maa (Eldest sister) a.k.a. Neeti Mahajan Dudeja and Bindass Maa (Elder sister) a.k.a. Deepti Mahajan Sachdev. For they have performed roles extraordinaire, they deserve every bit to be my role model. And I give you enough reasons. Here they are…..
She is a doting mother.
Believe it or not, as a mother, she has fulfilled the dreams of her children. From giving birth to making them learn to speak or write, from dressing them up for school in ponytails to fighting for my rights in school, from waking up from night till noon when health takes a toil to the bestest of education and sound advice, she was there day in and night out.
She has given me the sound lullaby.
I still remember “Pathar tha main” song. And, I still remember the conversation, how, on the other hand, I was made to die in a heap of clothes because I used to cry and that would lower my voice. God gave my mother and here I am alive 🙂
She is a perfect pamperer.
Being the youngest in the family, she has pampered me with gifts, surprises, best b’day celebrations and above all unconditional love.
She is a caring sister.
No matter what, be it the morning sun or the moon bidding good bye, be it the hot and humid summer or the peak winter time, in times of merry or a sad phase, she has been there at the forefront for her loving sisters.
She is a courageous shopping companion.
Bucket full of courage is required to be my companion while shopping. Despite this, she knows how to tackle and accompany me for my shopping.
She is an incredible dancer.
The stage is all hers when she starts dancing!
She is a loving nani.
She is a best friend.
Never has she betrayed anyone and the amount of love and affection she has for her friend can’t be described in words and vice versa. Long live this friendship!!
She is an impeccable chef.
Kitchen is her most loved place and she loves to cook mouthwatering delicacies with perfection. Topping it with love gives every yummilicious cuisine a flavour of its own. Never ever I have felt the need to skip homemade food.
She is a perfect companion.
Hand in hand, she has walked the journey of companionship with love, respect and grace.
She beautifully balances all relationships.
From sharing food, laughter, fun moments to everything in between, she has loved every relationship.
She completes the family.
Her unconditional love, motivation and keeping aside all her desires to make me what I am today, has made me pen down what I could recollect. Words would fall short, for she has done so much unconditionally!
I pay gratitude to all of you for being there. All I could say is – ‘You three deserve a salute!‘
Wishing you all a Happy Mother’s Day!
